LNP commits to protect and grow agriculture
Agriculture is a key part of the LNP's plan for a four-pillar economy to provide our regions with jobs and hope, LNP candidate for Mount Isa Mick Pattel said today.
Mick Pattel said the LNP would boost Queensland's biosecurity protection and identify agricultural land with potential for more productivity as part of its plan to protect and grow agriculture.

Better access to emergency hospital care under LNP
LNP candidate for Mount Isa, Mick Pattel said the LNP will revitalise front line services to assist in delivering better access to emergency hospital care at Mount Isa and Longreach Hospitals by taking a whole-of-hospital approach.
Our residents will also benefit from improved emergency hospital services and reduced ambulance ramping times at Townsville Hospital when patients need to be transferred there for treatment.

Second Southern Corridor Access Petition Already on the Record
A second southern access in to the city of Cairns is a priority and is an indictment of the present Labor government who have refused to consider this important project for the last thirty years, LNP candidate for Mulgrave, Robyn Quick said today.
"As coordinator of the Southern Corridor Action Group, which was formed when plans to demolish some 400 homes and businesses were announced, I have made a second access road a top priority for southern residents since the Bruce Highway Upgrade was announced in 2007. Along with community members, I have been successful in bringing about changes that have protected and preserved some 300 homes," Mrs Quick said.

Mackay's New Year's resolution
LNP candidate for Mackay, John Kerslake said Mackay needs a New Year's resolution to make 2012 a fresh start and become a part of the CANDO team. Mackay has suffered badly under Labor with the local member being seen as completely lazy and absolutely ineffective in delivering a future by people I've spoken with.
Mackay's power bills have gone up by $800 in the past five years despite Anna Bligh's promise at the time that 'no one would be worse off' under Labor's electricity changes. What has the local Labor member said and done about easing the cost of living, nothing.

LNP to boost property and construction sectors in Mackay
Cutting taxes, fixing planning laws, re-empowering councils and increasing State Government support at the highest level were key features of the LNP's Property and Construction Strategy, LNP Candidate for Mackay, John Kerslake, said today.
John Kerslake said the 'Property and Construction Strategy' launch followed the release of tourism, resources and agriculture strategies as part of the LNP's plan to grow a four pillar economy to get Queensland back on track and jobless down to four per cent in six years.

John Kerslake LNP Candidate for Mackay receives Disaster Citation
LNP candidate for Mackay, John Kerslake was awarded the 2010-2011 Queensland Flood and Cyclone Citation at the Mackay PCYC on Tuesday the 22nd of November 2011.
John Kerslake was on duty as a Sergeant leading a team from the Mackay District Tactical Crime Squad during Queensland's natural disasters from December 2010 to February 2011, police worked in conjunction with other Queensland Government Services to assist people in disaster preparation, impact minimisation, evacuations, assisted with the clean up and responded to the communities need to rebuild and recover.
