CanDo fairer fares will lower cost of living

A CanDo LNP government will lower the cost of living for Queensland families by halving Labor's 15% fare hikes on public transport.

LNP candidate for Mount Ommaney, Tarnya Smith, said the LNP was committed to revitalising front line services, lowering the cost of living for Queensland families and increasing public transport patronage.

Local residents of Mount Ommaney will get better access to specialist outpatient services under the LNP's $16 million plan to provide better access to specialist care at Queensland hospitals.

Tarnya Smith said a strong and united CanDo Team was committed to revitalising frontline services and fixing the mess Labor has made of Queensland's health service by making an immediate start on Labor's 'waiting list for the waiting list'.

Local schools in Mount Ommaney will share in an additional $115 million of funding under the LNP's Building our Future Schools Fund, LNP candidate for Mount Ommaney, Tarnya Smith said.

Tarnya Smith said local schools are at the heart of our community but their infrastructure needs have been ignored by this tired 20 year Labor government.

LNP Candidate for Mount Ommaney Tarnya Smith today travelled the electorate with Shadow Transport Minister Scott Emerson highlighting transport troubles facing the region.

"Labor has let down the electorate of Mount Ommaney by failing to provide transport systems that cater for the continued growth in this region," Mrs Smith said.

A CanDo LNP Government will revitalise front line education services by boosting Prep teacher aides across Queensland schools to ensure our children get the best start, LNP candidate for Mount Ommaney, Tarnya Smith, said today.

"Under the tired, 20-year Labor government, Queensland children are languishing at the bottom of the nation for literacy and numeracy.

Under an LNP government, power bills will show the real cost of Federal Labor's oppressive carbon tax, according to LNP candidate for Mount Ommaney Tarnya Smith.

Tarnya Smith said Labor's carbon tax would hit all Mount Ommaney households and businesses. It would cost jobs and lead to huge price rises – especially for electricity.

LNP pledges 1100 new front line police

The LNP has pledged an extra $275 million to put 1100 extra new police on the front line to fight crime in Queensland.

LNP candidate for Mount Ommaney, Tarnya Smith said the LNP was strongly committed to making Queensland communities safer by delivering the 1100 extra new police where they were needed to fight crime – in our suburbs and on our city streets.

The LNP's candidate for Mount Ommaney Tarnya Smith has vowed to take up the fight for the region's small business if she is elected to Parliament on 24 March.

"This area has been hit hard by an economic downturn, increased utilities costs, natural disasters and a loss of confidence in retail shopping and I think it is about time that small business in our area got a real break," Mrs Smith said.
