LNP Leader Campbell Newman today signed a pledge to the people of Queensland – that an LNP Government will get Queensland back on track.

Mr Newman delivered the LNP road map for government in Eagle Farm with LNP Candidates Saxon Rice (Mount Coot-tha), Kerry Millard (Sandgate), Jason Woodforth (Nudgee) and Rob Cavallucci (Brisbane Central).

"This pledge outlines the LNP team's plan for delivering job certainty and restoring business confidence in Queensland," Mr Newman said.

"The LNP has a clear agenda and a united team, and we are deeply committed to addressing the issues that are concerning Queensland families," Mr Newman said.

"After decades of missed opportunities and unfulfilled promises under Labor – the LNP has worked hard to develop scores of policies that will make a significant change to the Queensland economy and deliver benefits to all Queenslanders.

"Our vision is five-pronged and focuses on what Queenslanders have told us is important to them."

Mr Newman's pledge is to:

  • Grow a four pillar economy
  • Lower the cost of living for families by cutting waste
  • Deliver better infrastructure and better planning
  • Revitalise front line services for families; and
  • Restore accountability in Government.

"The tired 20 year old Labor government has lost direction; is out of ideas and out of touch.

"Unemployment in Queensland is the highest of any mainland state, cost of living has gone through the roof, we've lost our AAA credit rating, and the Labor Government keeps putting their hands into the pockets of taxpayers to service the $85 billion in debt they are running up," Mr Newman said.

"It's time to rein in the waste, and create employment opportunities - and to get some 'Can Do' spirit into George Street.

"It's time for a change. It's time to get Queensland back on track."
